How to be Emo with a dress code

Okay., So I go to a lame school that has a lame dress code/ Khaki pants (Navy blue or, of course, Khaki colored) plain colored Polo shirts (can't be striped till high school and can't have any logos) so, yeah, it's pretty hard to be Emo with those restrictions. But there IS a way around it, you just have to be clever enough to fin d it...

Step One:
Never, EVER let the ress code stand in your way. Emo is all about expressing yourself, and there are other ways to do that besides through clothes. But even if you have a dress code, and you're all about the newest clothes, the only tip I can really give you is accessorize! Even with a harsh, strict dres code, there are still ways that you can accessorize to make any outfit look Emo.
Wear LOTS of bracelets. If you don't have that many, tie random, thicker strings around our wrists, or you can even tie shoelaces on them to give the same appearance. I personally do this, and it adds a nice flair of "I'm unique and in my own world. Just me and my shoelaces." Wear band pins, bows in your hair, and Converse or skater shoes. And try to get away with as much dark colors in your outfits as possible.

Step Two:
Wear your hair the way you want to. Administrators can't really do anything about your hair. Try to die it different colors, with of course Jet Black and White Blonde being favorites for a base color. Try to have some colored streaks in there, and if you aren't allowed to die your hair un-natural colors, clip-ins work just as well.

Step Three:
Give off the air of being to wrapped up in your own world to care about what others think of you. Don't be mean, but be the type of person that isn't afraid to show off what they are really feeling. Even if you are a guy. Don't be afraid to cry, or break down. Show how sad you are over a break up, and show how mad you are when someone bull shits you. Try to be the person that everyone will know they can come to when they are having problems, and you will be there to give advice and help them through it.

Step Four:
Do things that are out of the ordinary. Don't fit in. This is the last thing that you want people to think. Emo is all about standing out in a crowd and being your own person. There is no wrong way to show this, but make sure that you don't seem to full of yourself. You never want to fit into a stereotype, or have people believe that you are one. Don't even try to fit the Emo stereotype. Be your own person.

Step Five:
This is the final step, and probably the most important one. Never believe that hurting yourslef is a way to seem Emo. That is probably the biggest way to come off as a poser. Hurting yourself (i.e. Cutting yourself, burning yourself, carving words and sayings into your skin) is something that people do only when they are extremely depressed and need help. It's a release for some people, and for others a way of getting attention. It is NOT recommended.

So you see, there are ways around a dress code, and there are lots of ways to slightly bend the rools, find loop holes, and work your way around them. You just have to be nit-picky. And sneaky.

Who I am

Okay, So basically my name's Makenna. People call me lots of different nicknames, and I hate pretty much everyone save for a few. Yes, I am Emo, and yes I know what the hell I'm talking about. Sometimes I am angry, but most of the time I am like an other normal, shy, quiet, Emo girl. But enough about that. You people don't need to know anything else about me and if you watn to know more, well, that's creepy.
